Chargers also known as:  Place Plate, Set Plate, Base Plate, Show Plate.

Chargers are larger than a standard dinner plate and can sometimes be used as trays for passing hos d’oeuvres, or stationary appetizers. At a place setting bowls and plates are placed on top during dinner.
